As the SSD (Solid State Drive) market heats up, products with only standardized specifications can no longer satisfy embedded customers who demand more different specifications for size, angle, thickness, functions, etc. With one of its greatest R&D advantages of product customization, Apacer—the global memory module leader—has successfully developed a SSD dedicated to the AMC123* computing module by working strategically with Performance Technologies (NASDAQ: PTIX), called SDM 20P/90D (SATA Disk Module 22pin/90Degree). With only 6 mm in height, this product has a unique 20-pin connector supporting both SATA and USB signals. In addition to the innovative dual-interface system, it compactness, reliably tight attachment, and built-in power supply also help maximize the performances of embedded applications to an optimal extent.
Made using the stable SLC (Single Level Cell), Apacer's latest SDM 20P/90D SSD supports SATA II 3.0 Gb/s transmission interface. Available in capacities from 2GB to 16GB, it is complete with a unique 20-pin connector that enables it to be more tightly attached with the motherboard, as compared to the original SATA 7-pin connector. Thanks to the mounting holes on the edge as well, loosening caused by system vibration can be effectively prevented. SDM 20P/90D innovatively features the support for both SATA and USB signals, enabling embedded customers to select desired interface flexibly for their end customer requirements. Apacer also considers limited space usage of embedded system by integrating the power supply into the 20-pin connector. This eliminates the need for an external power cable while preserving the completeness of the signal, thereby dramatically increasing the product stability.
Performance Technologies, a listed, US-based company with more than 27 years of industry experience, is a global leading provider of professional platform construction and solutions for network communication. Apacer teams up with Performance Technologies to launch SDM 20P/90D, which is dedicated to the AMC123 computing module. It is not only suitable for the ultra-thin 1U server but also boasts the advantages of SSD—high-speed, low power-consuming, and stable, all for the high end requirements of AMC 123 computing module. Since its entry to the industrial SSD sector in 1998, Apacer has been widely acclaimed by global manufacturers for its market familiarity and know-how. Supported and trusted by its customers over long periods of time, Apacer excels its competitors at storage solutions based on SATA, PATA, CompactFlash, and USB interface.
SDM 20P/90D is an OEM-based customized product. Engineering samples become available today for customer evaluation. Please contact local representatives for more information.
